Application of Image Processing in Alignments

The study describes the methods to overcome mis-alignment of shafts in industry. Mis-alignments lead to vibrations, critical conditions leading to failure of transmission systems. A dedicated software is used for checking and removing mis-alignments. Both angular and linear misalignments can be studied and eliminated. The same concept can also be applied for joint replacement surgeries. The present work highlights the advantages of this software with the example of hip joint replacement surgery.
