Application of Quality Tools in Health Services: an Exploratory Study

This article is based on the research report presented to the banks of the undergraduate course in Administration, Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), as a partial requirement to obtain the title of bachelor's degree in business administration. This is an exploratory study performed at the Hospital de Clínicas (HCU) in 2009, to analyze the causes of the reasons suspension of surgeries, composes the overall objective of this study. The theme involved it relates to the management of the quality. How instruments were used some quality control tools to highlight the causes that contributed most to strangle the waiting list for a surgical procedure. The method used was applied research, exploratory and descriptive purpose, whose methodological basis was the revision literature, for the collection of data used questionnaire, work on the spot. As a result it was found that the non attendance of patients was the preponderant factor for this process.
