Approaches for Underground Mining Method Selection

Selection of the best-fitting method is the most important aspect of mining in terms of techno-economic parameters. Since underground mining methods are techniques of recovering mineral deposits below the earth's surface, they require a large outlay of capital and technological investment. There is a wide variety of underground mining methods available, each having inherent requirements for applications. Each mining method demands specific mine development. To develop this mine and produce ore will necessitate certain amount of cost, and on the other hand generate certain revenues. Keeping the costs low and revenues high will maximise economic return. This book can be used as a reference for comparison of the approaches for underground mining method selection. The study seeks to deepen the understanding of each approach and its capability in identifying a suitable underground mining method.
