Approaches in the Treatment of Parkinson's Disease

Although Parkinson's disease is debilitating millions of people around the globe, none of the current therapies has been able to curb the progression of the disease, laying a serious challenge before the neuroscience community. Both pharmacological as well as non-drug approaches have been proposed and extensively investigated. This works offers an extensive description of some of the new promising non-traditional approaches in the management of Parkinson's disease with a special focus on the interesting potential use of stem cell-based regenerative therapies in the treatment of Parkinson's disease. This work should be useful to many scholars involved in neurosciense, Parkinson's disease, stem cell-based therapy, and regenerative medicine.

Tareq Al-maqtari received his Masters degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology from university of Louisville, USA in 2012. He worked as a Pharmacology Instructor at a number of medical institutes in Yemen from 2006 till 2009.He has also been a member of "Kentucky Academy of Science", USA since 2012.
