The purpose of this book is to examine novel bioactive substances isolated from fresh water biota, an area of research that has yet to be concentrated on due to ecosystem instability, which varies in temperature, pressure, and humidity, all of which are highly reliant on seasonal conditions. In comparison to other freshwater animals, Barytelphusa Cunicularis is a completely new freshwater crab species to researchers. Actually, this is an edible plant, and while many researchers have studied its biodiversity, the food attribute has yet to be documented (this is time reported and analyzed in this book). This is the most common crab found in India, specifically in the northern region of Maharashtra. Various researchers have conducted studies on this species.

Dr. Sanjay Chavan is an Associate Professor at Department of Chemistry R. L. College Parola, which is affiliated to KBC North Maharashtra University. He has Ph. D. from KBC North Maharashtra University and was previously Head of Department. Natural Product Chemistry is his research interest, he has 11 paper published in international journals.
