U.K. Kwak is a doctoral candidate in American Studies at Washington State University, where she is working on her dissertation on Philip Ahn, a pioneering Korean American actor. She specializes in representations and stereotypes of Asians and Asian Americans in the mainstream U.S. media and pop culture.
