Artistic rights in Congolese popular theater and cinema

The Democratic Republic of the Congo is a country rich in resources such as gold, uranium and, in particular, culture.However, the constitution of February 18, 2006, as amended on January 20, 2011, enshrines the promotion of culture, the best-known of which are theater and cinema.In fact, the animators of this culture in their performances are entitled to remuneration under the ordinance-law on the protection of copyright and neighboring rights, nevertheless this remuneration is sometimes not ensured by those liable... This is why it is imperative to apply the relevant legislation strictly, to enable artists to profit from their performances.
