Assessment of Foreign Direct Investment in the Russian Automobile Market

The study assesses Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the automobile sector in the Russian Federation. The author begins by surveying different types of FDI and their micro- and macroeconomic effects on the domestic economy. He then surveys the automobile industry in Russia and examines the impact of FDI on this industry. The author concludes by asserting that FDI alone is not sufficient to ensure diversification of the Russian economy.
