Assessment of Pest Peril in Transplanted SRI

In system agriculture, productivity increase by minimizing pest losses is one of the significant achievements. Paddy is the leading farmer accepted crop because of its various uses like rice grain for food, bran for oil, straw for conservation & fuel with jute stick & cow dung, straw silica for cementing agent etc. The research on SRI by the authors in the Gangetic alluvial region of India proved that biological yield losses due to weed pests in grain 37.02 % and straw 23.12 % is maximum followed by insect pests 27.90 % and 18.23 % and disease pests 15.60 and 12.35 % respectively. The ecosafe integrated management of these major pests during their critical crop pest competition period can able to bring the infestation below the ETL and by minimizing the losses due to these major pests the paddy productivity can be increased to the desired level. The book "Assessment of Pest Peril in Transplanted SRI" is highlighted the details methodology and findings of percent productivity loss by these three major pests along with their ecosafe integrated management.
