The use of biomarkers in breast cancer has made it possible to personalize treatment and prognosis. Objective: To identify the association between molecular markers and clinicopathological factors in breast cancer in Pinar del Río.An observational, descriptive, longitudinal and retrospective study of 96 patients with breast cancer was carried out. Clinical, anatomopathological, biomolecular and follow-up variables were studied. The estrogen receptor subtype predominated, with 70.8% followed by progesterone receptors with 56.3%. Of the women, 34.4% belonged to the group between 51 and 60 years of age (34.4%). Association was found between recurrence and estrogen receptor (p=0.03), progestogen receptor (p=0.01) and HER-2 (p= 0.02) subtypes; the last two showed association with metastasis. No association was found between the clinical characteristics studied and the molecular subtypes. Tumors with HER-2 expression tended to have a greater dispersion of their diameters. Recurrence was associated with all subtypes, while metastasis was associated with progesterone and HER-2 subtypes, the latter increasing the risk of metastasis.
