Asylum Seekers, Social Work and Racism

This book analyses social work through the concept of 'xenoracism' to challenge the outdated concepts of racism that still pervade social work. It illustrates how, through their discursive practices, social workers are able to counteract the dominant anti asylum seeking discourses.

Shepard Masocha is Lecturer in Social Work in the School of Psychology, Social Work and Social Policy at the University of South Australia, Australia. He was previously at the University of Kent, UK, and is a qualified social worker with experience of working in children and families teams in Scotland, England and Wales.
