At the funeral of the Republic. A plea for a new Congo

The plea for a new Congo is first and foremost an effort to repudiate the disastrous tendency to make the Congo a non-state, a dead republic or the republic of all fatalities. Since 1960, the Congo has not succeeded in building a republic, or in realising the need for one, for lack of a consistent vision of Africa and the world. A republic that has never understood that the first condition for a geopolitical role is to exist as a strong and integrated nation with a strong national cohesion, nourished by an ardent political conscience. The hope constituted by the advent of a new power, the need to take the republic out of the order of death and to conceive the refoundation of the Congolese state as a duty to resurrect its funeral. As is well known, the visceral crises and conflicts of all kinds that plague the country in question have led it to a more than infernal turn, paralysing the course of its history.
