Atomic Energy Research Establishment

Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission is the only nuclear reactor of the country. It is a tank type research reactor and use for training, research and isotope production. Neutrons produced during the fission reaction are used for conducting various researches and development work radioisotope production non-destructive testing and other related activities. A nuclear reactor is a system that contains and controls sustained nuclear chain reactions. Reactors are used for generating electricity, moving aircraft carriers and submarines, producing medical isotopes for imaging and cancer treatment, and for conducting research.
