Attitude of School Students Towards Physical Education

Physical Education, now the day is considered an important and integral part of general education which aims at the harmonious development of man. The purpose of the study was to examine attitudes of high and Higher Secondary school students of North Kashmir of Jammu and Kashmir State. Only half of the sampled students enjoyed the physical education classes during the last session, the reasons given were-"to gain new knowledge and new skills". Students also felt that physical education is "an interesting subject" and they "love sports". Only half of the sampled students brought playing kits to Physical Education classes and the rest of the sampled students did not bring their playing kit to physical education classes because they felt that it is heavy and too much to carry. The majority of the sampled students regularly took part in Physical Education classes because they wanted to develop their skills and knowledge towards physical education. Female students were discouraged by the presence of the male students in their classes and exercising the playing kit hesitates them to perform activities in front of others.
