Autistic child Learning Adult attention span: in Abidjan
Details
This book attempts to analyze the social learning behaviors of children with autism as a function of the amount of attention provided by an educator in an institutional setting. The method used is borrowed from strict ethological methods, i.e. direct observation. It is completed by a study of the medical files of the autistic children and a semi-directive interview with the parents and the educators which allowed us to collect additional information. The data obtained were processed using statistical methods. The analysis revealed that the social behaviours of autistic children in relation to learning at the pilot CPPE in Cocody are made up of maintenance and initiation behaviours, interactions and response behaviours of social interaction. These behaviors are influenced by the different attention rates (25%, 50%, 75%) of an educator. Different correlations between the variables were found. These results are considered interesting for the learning of children with autism.
