Automated inflating resuscitator for COVID 19 patients
Details
Pandemic disease COVID - 19 causes a severe impact globally which arises as a fatal disease. Literature reveals that 5% of the patients require a respirator to maintain the blood oxygen level. Globally, the government struggles to overcome the demand of ventilator system to save the lives. This demand has led to developing low-cost respiratory devices. Literature study of automated bag valve masks is equipped with the electromechanical systems operated using microcontrollers. There is less capability of respiratory machines to understand the patient's compliance and graphical user interfaces in BVM ventilator for pressure, tidal volume and breathe per minute monitoring systems. In light of the above mentioned, a prototype was developed with sensors and controller to automate the BVM and able to understand the patient's compliance. This technical report emphasis development of respirator model to reduce the shortage of mechanical ventilators and also compares the respiratory parameters with commercial respiratory devices.
