The manufacturing companies, now a days are looking for the solution to problems of global warming and environment degradation which arise from increased manufacturing activities. The researchers have proposed an idea of sustainable manufacturing.as the solution to the above said problems. The objective of sustainable manufacturing is the creation of manufactured products through processes that are non-polluting, conserve energy and natural resources, and are economically sound and safe for employees, communities, and consumers. The objective of sustainable manufacturing can only be achieved if a there is a system that is able to measure sustainability of a manufacturing process or a product. An energy intensive manufacturing process is a good candidate for the study of sustainability. Die-casting is one such process. Therefore, the present research deals with determination of Sustainability. of a die casting part at its design stage.

Il Dr. Chandan Deep Singh lavora come professore assistente presso il dipartimento di ingegneria meccanica dell'Università di Punjabi, Patiala. Ha completato il dottorato di ricerca in ingegneria meccanica nel 2016. Ha all'attivo circa 60 pubblicazioni su varie riviste internazionali e ha guidato circa 30 studenti per la tesi di M.Tech.
