The most challenging task for the communication engineers is to develop realistic channel models which can accurately predict the performance of mobile radio channels. Due to the mobility of mobile users and/or the surrounding scatterers, even a small delay may degrade system performance significantly. The detailed modeling of the spatial characteristics of the channel such as angle spread, angle of arrival and physical geometry of scattering objects has also become essential with the advent of antenna array. So the channel state information is essential for a time varying channel to predict the timings of future deep fades. Therefore Autoregressive Modeling has been used in this study for a ring of scatterers to generate accurate correlated Rayleigh processes. The scatterers are uniformly distributed in circle around the mobile transmitter. The fading waveforms are generated for this ring model with first order Autoregressive process for antenna array on the base station incorporating azimuth spread. The correlation thus developed is compared with analytical correlation and Jakes' simulated correlation. The findings prove that Autoregressive fading model is more realistic model.

Dr. Rajni is currently working as Professor at SBS State Technical Campus, Ferozepur, India. She has done her Ph.D. in Metamaterial Planar Antennas. She has approximately 18 years of academic experience. She has supervised 19 M.Tech. theses. She has more than 70 research publications to her credit in referred Journals as well as in conferences.
