Avionics Safety Critical Software Verification

The intent of this book is to provide an overview of the verification techniques used to verify safety critical Avionics software in compliance with DO-178B standard with main emphasis on the software unit testing. A complete software verification includes testing software at various levels / phases. The objective of software testing is to demonstrate that the software satisfies its requirements and also demonstrate with a high degree of confidence that errors which could lead unacceptable failure conditions, as determined by the system safety assessment process, have been removed. Test results provides an indication of software reliability and quality.
