Scissor Sisters is an American band that formed in New York City in 2001. The group gained prominence after signing with the independent record label A Touch of Class, during which their songs "Electrobix" and "Comfortably Numb" (a Pink Floyd cover) were picked up by underground DJs in electroclubs. They have released two studio albums: Scissor Sisters (2004) and Ta-Dah (2006). Scissor Sisters was released under Polydor Records in February 2004 in the UK. and under Universal Records in July 2004 in the United States. Under the same labels, Ta-Dah was released in September 2006. The group's remix EP, Remixed!, was released under A Touch of Class in September 2004. The band has also produced two video albums: We Are Scissor Sisters And So Are You (2004) and Hurrah! A Year of Ta-Dah (2007). Although they have experienced only limited mainstream success in the US, the band has been more successful in Europe, Canada, Australia, and particularly in the UK, where their debut album was the best-selling album, and have achieved numerous chart hits in that nation.
