High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Killers, an American rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada, have won seventeen awards from seventy-one nominations. After forming in late 2002 when Dave Keuning's advertisement in a music paper was answered by Brandon Flowers, Mark Stoermer and Ronnie Vannucci Jr., a Warner Bros. employee recommended them to Lizard King Records, who signed them. The band consequently went to England to record their 2004 debut album Hot Fuss, which earned them five nominations at the 47th Grammy Awards and has sold over 7,500,000 copies. Their second album, Sam's Town was released in 2006 to mixed reviews. It won Best International Album at the 2007 BRIT Awards. Their compilation album released in 2007, Sawdust, received a nomination for Best Album at the 2008 NME Awards USA. The band's third studio album, Day & Age (2008), has so far been nominated for two BRIT Award and seven NME Awards.
