Awareness on Forensic Linguistics Among Legal Practitioners

Law is a profession of words, and It is becoming increasingly common for Linguists to testify as expert witnesses in both civil and criminal trials. This book comprehensively discussed the use of Forensic Linguists and their impact in the court of Law. On the most fundamental level, every aspect of the law and legal system relies on language which can often be overly complicated and incomprehensible to a lay person. A forensic linguist can assist with the interpretation of a particular law, the terms of a contract, insurance claim, or other documents for the benefit of the court or on behalf of a lawyer. The law experts in European countries takes forensic department seriously but reverse is the case in Nigeria. This research saw that vacuum, and unleashed all the possible solutions by awareness.
