People management is undergoing changes in its practices in order to keep up with the new realities of the business world. These include diversity, which manifests itself in different ways: gender, race and age. The latter has been the subject of studies which reveal that the current workforce is multigenerational, made up of the baby boomers, X and Y generations. Each of them has their professional and personal expectations based on key social, economic or political events that marked their early years and also on the education provided by their parents or educators. Reflections of these realities are currently being seen in work environments, where variables such as working hours, management and leadership, among others, demonstrate the different needs of these generations, posing a challenge for managers who need to learn how to mediate the conflicts caused by these different personal and professional desires. It is necessary to update work dynamics, taking advantage of the best that each generation has to contribute to the success of organizations, and in the meantime, this research has proposed mentoring.
