This book is about Nigeria's experience with banking reforms, featuring four phases of bank deregulation, bank re-regulation, bank guided deregulation and bank consolidation. The study covered a period of 23 years and reported mixed results on banking stability.While bank consolidation augured well for banking stability, a number of stability measures across the four reform phases were in the negative.

The author is a senior Lecturer in the department of Banking and Finance, University of Uyo, Uyo, Nigeria. He has authored a number of books and articles in this area. He holds a Ph.D in Finance and his research interest is financial intermediation.
