MATLAB, short for MATrix LABoratory is a programming package specifically designed for quick and easy scientific calculations and I/O. MATLAB is a high-performance language for technical computing. It integrates computation, visualization, and programming environment. Furthermore, MATLAB is a modern programming language environment: it has sophisticated data structures, contains built-in editing and debugging tools, and supports object-oriented programming. These factors make MATLAB an excellent tool for teaching and research.It has literally hundreds of built-in functions for a wide variety of computations and many toolboxes designed for specific research disciplines, including statistics, optimization, solution of partial differential quations, data analysis.This book is primarily intended for use as supplement in junior or senior level undergraduate courses on MATLAB. We assume that the student is familiar with the fundamentals of MATLAB, we have tried to do is to provide enough depth to the MATLAB functions and examples, so that the presentation is consistent, logical and enjoyable. Therefore, this book can also be used as a self-study guide by anyone interested in MATLAB.
