Behavioural Ecology of the Sunda Colugo

The Sunda Colugo (Galeopterus variegatus) is one of the enigmatic species that inhabit the tropical rainforest of South East Asia. Due to the difficulties in finding and tracking this nocturnal arboreal mammal in its free ranging habitat, the Sunda Colugo had received little attention. Most of the information is only shared among researchers while leaving other group in lack of understanding about this species. Thus, it is important to raise awareness about the existence of this species especially to other part of the world. Most people confused the Sunda Colugo with the Flying Squirrel while others are not even aware of the existence of this species. This book presents the roosting selection, diet preferences and behaviour patterns of the Sunda Colugo in its free ranging habitat in Bako National Park, Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo.

Muhammad Dzulhelmi Bin Muhammad Nasir is born in Malaysia on February 1986. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree (2005-2008) and the Master of Science Degree (2008-2011) in Zoology at the Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Sarawak. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Ecology and Biodiversity at the Universiti Malaya (UM), Kuala Lumpur.
