Bell Pepper Seed Production Under Protected Conditions

This book may prove beneficial to those who involved in the seed production industry. We have seen the vegetable production in the polyhouses but seed production has not yet practiced in large scale. High tech greenhouses allow us to manipulate the environmental conditions according to the nature of the crop and therefore provide us an opportunity to extend the cropping season of the crop and thereby higher yields of quality seeds. Moreover in greenhouse cultivation main emphasis is given on appropriate cultural practices such as plant densities and training systems in order to enhance the production per unit area by utilizing the available space and utilization of the resources. Diseases and insects from other crops can also be checked to affect the crops under protected conditions. Seed production under protected conditions proves to be a boon especially for crops such as bell pepper, tomato, cucumber etc. Considering above advantages protected structures may be utilized for commercial seed production of various crops.
