Benefits of Saving and Credit Cooperatives on Household Income

The level of dependence of the rural households on agriculture as their main sources of income and their reliance on seasonal rain have responsible for high level of vulnerability.This is practically seen in poor countries like Ethiopia that micro finance interventions have been shown a significant role in poverty alleviation. This book, therefore, provides the impact of SACOO on household income in the rural areas. For analyzing, descriptive and econometric model was use. Based on that, determinant factors that affect households' participation on Saving and Credit Cooperatives in the rural areas were identified. Hence, the analysis gives basic concept of microfinance for communities who need to expand in the rural areas and would be especially useful for professionals who undertake different researches on Microfinance Institutions and related Financial Institutions.
