Ellsworth Elmer "Bert" Cunningham (November 25, 1865 in Wilmington, Delaware - May 14, 1952 in Cragmere, Delaware), is a former professional baseball player who played pitcher in the Major Leagues from 1887-1901. He would play for the Brooklyn Grays, Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Athletics, Buffalo Bisons, Louisville Colonels, and Chicago Orphans. Playing for Buffalo in the Players' League on Sept. 15, 1890, Cunningham threw five wild pitches in one inning. It was a record that still stands today, although it was tied in a 2000 playoff game by St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Rick Ankiel.
