Best practices of shrub management in Albania

Best Management Practices, (BMPs) are practical guidelines that can be used to enhance the overall environmental quality of a piece of property. They use some of forest management processes and measures that imitate as much as possible natural processes that occur in the forest. The identification of shrub management options for Albania, considers carefully the needs and capacities of the authorities responsible for the management of these areas, which include both forest service and the communes where forests area are transferred. For each management option are estimated not only the benefits of the interventions but also the risks and costs for implementing these management options.

Dr. Kromidha holds a PhD on "Ecological forest management" since 2009. He has worked for several years at General Directorate of Forests and Pastures in Albania and have gained a good experience in forest management. Recently he has been working as a freelance expert and has been engaged in several projects related to natural resources management.
