BIO-ACOUSTICS STUDY OF CICADA IN SELECTED FOREST PLANTATIONS

Cicadas play an important role in the ecosystem and are scientifically classified under the order Hemiptera. Cicadas emit one of the most distinct sounds of the animal kingdom of the insect group. This books reveals the following results (1) identification of the cicada species in various trees would pave the way to understanding the existing/ dominant cicada species prevailing in a forest plantations (2) assessment of the sound intensity of cicada species and (3) understand the bio-acoustic mechanism of cicada species.

Sooraj Kumar é um investigador realizado no domínio da silvicultura e está atualmente a fazer o doutoramento na UAE. É licenciado em Silvicultura pela Universidade Agrícola de Tamil Nadu, em 2019, seguido de um mestrado em Silvicultura (Silvicultura e Agroflorestação) da RLBCAU, Jhansi, em 2021. Recebeu uma bolsa ICAR JRF e SRF.
