The evolution of dentistry is closely associated with the advancements in dental materials. From the dawn of history dental practitioners have been in the quest for ideal restorative dental materials. Though at first ideal restorative materials were believed to be those that were biologically inert and thus biocompatible, bioactive materials have emerged as a viable alternative over the past two decades. The need for invention and applications of newer materials are quintessential in every field, especially in dentistry. In the branch of conservative dentistry & endodontics, bioactive materials have been extensively used for repair, regeneration, and reconstruction.

Patil Vidyapeeth Pune, Maharashtra, India.Currently she is pursing her Masters in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics from S.M.B.T Dental College and Hospital, Sangamner, Maharashtra, India.She has been acknowledged in several reputable journals for her scientific publications.
