This book focuses on how molecular hybridization is a useful tool in new drug design and development and also provides the synthesis, characterization and biological study of some hybrid heterocyclic molecules. It is divided into six chapters. The first chapter deals with the introduction and biological importance of benzofuran, chalcone, triazole and isoxazole derivatives. The second chapter describes the synthesis of some benzofuran based 1,2,3-triazoles derivatives. The third chapter deals with the synthesis of some chalcone based bis 3,5-disubstituted isoxazoles. The fourth chapter involves the synthesis of some benzofuran based 3,5-disubstituted isoxazoles. The fifth chapter gives the synthesis of some benzofuran based di-1,2,3-triazoles. The sixth chapter describes the evaluation of antimicrobial activity of newly synthesized compounds. The synthesized compounds structures were being established based on spectral data such as IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and MASS.
