Biologically Active Quinolines
Details
The chemistry of quinoline derivatives has been of increasing interest due to their vast chemical reactivity, biological and pharmaceutical activities. It has been reported that these derivatives possess anti-tuberculosis, Antimicrobial, antihistamine, anticancer, anti-hypertensive, antifungal, antimalarial, anti-HIV and antioxidant activities. Thiazole and thiazolidinone derivatives are known to exhibit diverse biological activities, they have anti-inflammatory anticancer, antimicrobial, anti-tuberculosis and antioxidant activity. Also, many pyridine dicarbonitrile derivatives were reported to have significant biological activities such as antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities. Quinoline-2-thiones have been reported to have a variety of applications such as synthetic intermediates and biologically active compounds. These mentioned facts and properties aroused my interest in synthesizing new biologically active molecules and my efforts were directed towards the synthesis of new heterocyclic compounds containing quinoline ring bearing thiazole, pyrazole and pyridine moieties and studying their biological activities.
