Biometric Fingerprint Recognition Systems

This book is the dissertation submitted by the author for the degree of Ph.D. at University of Bologna (Dept. of Electronics, Computer Science and Systems - DEIS). The aim of this volume is to study some of the main problems of fingerprint-based biometric systems (i.e., acquisition devices quality- certification, fingerprint recognition algorithms and performance evaluation of fingerprint recognition systems) and to provide innovative solutions developed by the author during his research activities and experimentations in the field.

Autorentext

Matteo Ferrara is a Ph.D. graduate from the University of Bologna. During his Ph.D. studies he worked on Biometric Fingerprint Recognition Systems. Today he is an assistant teacher and a member of the Biometric System Laboratory. His research interests include image processing, pattern recognition, biometric systems.
