Bioprospecting from Marine Resources for Biotechnological Application
Details
Marine bioprospecting refers to the systematic and targeted search for the novel and potential bioactive products and other products or genes with biotechnological application for human and animal welfare from organisms. Bioprospecting is suitable in oceans, because, it has various marine habitats represent fertile grounds like pelagic and benthic habitats and symbiotic or epibiotic life styles. Marine organisms producing of secondary metaolites, toxins, signalling molecules and others, constitute an unparalleled reservoir from a biotechnological perspective, and lead to effective defence and competition. The extensive range of application of marine bioprospecting may include pharma, medicine, and biotechnology industry including oil, gas, feed and biofules. In addition to the marine biotechnology huge development worldwide and further, it should considered as strategic not only for reaching key societal needs but also for economic growth. Main vision of the symposium will be bioprospecting from marine microorganisms in biotechnological application.
