Bola de Nieve
Details
This work about Ignacio Jacinto Villa, better known as Bola de Nieve, born in a poor womb, reveals who was a true ambassador of that Cuba that did not want to show racial and cultural prejudices. He was a genuine representative of that deep Cuba, which carried in its bosom a very great spiritual richness. He was a creator very attached to our roots and he bequeathed us a universal message, Creole, mestizo and very much ours. He was, without a doubt, a genuine synthesis of Cuban musical traditions, up to that time. He was characterized by simplicity, because he was not a victim of the intoxication of fame, as it usually happens. About him, Alicia Alonso has said: "In Cuba nothing else has emerged a Bola de Nieve". It is the life and work of this great artist that I wanted to reflect in these pages.
