BONDING PROTOCOLS IN CONSERVATIVE DENTISTRY AND ENDODONTICS

Dentine adhesive systems have created a new era in the field of dentistry. Owing to its property of adherence to the tooth structure by both micromechanical and chemical means, it finds a wide range of applications in various fields. It has led to the most desired form of treatment needs, i.e. the conservation of tooth structure, which is the ultimate goal of conservative dentistry. The current trend in the development of adhesive systems attempts to simplify bonding steps and make them more user-friendly. However, optimizing speed and efficiency should be accomplished without major trade-offs in the quality or durability of tooth resin bonds. It is a proven fact that any kind of simplification in the clinical application procedures results in a loss of bonding effectiveness.
