Neonatal calf diarrhoea is one of the major causes of illness in bovine calves associated with Rotavirus A. Among different groups of rotaviruses, Group A rotaviruses have been found to be predominantly present in cases of diarrhoea in Bovines. Rotavirus belongs to the genus Rotavirus of the Reoviridae family possess 6 structural (VP1, VP2, VP3, VP4, VP6 and VP7) and 6 non-structural (NSP1, NSP2, NSP3, NP4, NSP5, NSP6) proteins. Considering domestic animals and humans together, rotavirus diarrhoea which is often more severe than diarrhoea caused by other etiological factors, is one of the most important diseases which causes death of millions of children in developing countries and also inflicts great economic loss to livestock farmers. In India, the prevalence of rotavirus in calf diarrhoea below one month of age ranges between 10 and 52 per cent. The present book has covered the current knowledge in diagnosis and epidemiological data from India and in comparison to the world. Additionally it covers the recent advancement in diagnosis of diseases.
