Details

This book draws upon data collected over an 18 year period with over 1000 boys and young men across Northern Ireland. Providing critical reflections on violence, masculinity and education, it uses the voices and experiences of young men to inform and influence research, practice and policy.

In Boys, Young Men, and Violence, Ken Harland and Sam McCready provides the results of an 18-year study that focused on the development of adolescent boys and young men ranging in ages from eleven to twenty-three. They provide data and ideas that are particularly needed by educators, professionals, officials, and researchers worldwide, to better respond to at-risk adolescent boys and young men who struggle with violence on an everyday basis. (Michael R. Shew, Journal of Youth and Adolescence, Vol. 45, 2016)
