Breast Cancer: Associated Factors and Different Treatments
Details
The most common kind of cancer in women is breast cancer. Breast cancer is still a complicated and diverse illness that necessitates multimodal treatment approaches, even with advancements in early detection and targeted therapy development. While standard therapeutic approaches such as hormonal therapy, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgical resection, and monoclonal antibody-based regimens have significantly improved patient outcomes, they are frequently linked to side effects and variable efficacy based on patient-specific factors and tumor subtype. In recent years, interest has grown in the integration of complementary and alternative medicine, particularly phytotherapy, into conventional oncology care. Various herbal compounds have demonstrated anticancer properties in preclinical studies, including pro-apoptotic, anti-proliferative, and anti-angiogenic effects. This book provides an overview on breast cancer, its risk factors, and different therapeutic regimens including herbal medications.
