Breeding of Ricebean

The book is beneficial for the scholars working in the areas of Plant Breeding and Genetics, especially pulse crop breeding. It covers the breeding aspects of under utilized pulse crop Rice bean (Vigna umbellata (Thunb) Ohwi and Ohashi) and explains the nature and magnitude of variation of growth parameters and yield system traits of different rice bean genotypes for monoculture and intercropping with maize. Besides, it illustrates the inter-alia association among traits of Rice bean and their association with the grain yield for use in effective indirect selection. The nature and magnitude of direct and indirect contribution of different characters of Rice bean towards yield under monoculture and intercropping with maize is also explained.
