The book provides an insight into C3-C4 intermediate photosynthetic characteristics of Alternanthera species. Understanding the ecologically important traits in naturally occurring C3-C4 intermediate model plant species and the critical role in elevated photosynthetic CO2 fixation/ recycling mechanisms of these plant species play a key role to develop photosynthetically better crop species using conventional hybridization or molecular approaches.
