CAD-CAM IN PROSTHODONTICS

CAD/CAM technology has transformed prosthodontics by allowing the digital design and manufacturing of dental restorations. Through the use of intraoral scanners, detailed 3D images of the patient's teeth are captured, replacing traditional impressions. Prosthodontists can then manipulate the digital models using specialized software to design customized restorations that fit accurately and function harmoniously. The CAD/CAM systems employ milling machines or 3D printers to fabricate the restorations using a variety of materials. This technology has resulted in improved precision, efficiency, and aesthetic outcomes in prosthodontic procedures
