Camparison of LTE-A Enhancement Techniques
Details
Frequency selective scheduling is an attractive feature in the 3GPP LTE- A system that allows optimum usage of the allocated spectrum Frequency scheduling. Frequency scheduling relies on Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) report by the user equipment (UE). The main challenge in CQI reporting consists of reduction in number of CQI feedback overhead maintaining the performance of the system throughput. Several CQI feedback scheme have been proposed for 3GPP LTE- A systems. In the open literature, the threshold Feedback Compression Scheme and Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) is proposed to reduce the CQI feedback overhead. Threshold Feedback Compression Scheme performance is compared against CQI feedback without compression schemes. Feedback Compression offers a flexible process for CQI feedback that can be easily adapted to different operating scenarios. Simulation results indicate that the Threshold Feedback scheme achieves significantly higher throughput than other. In this book an overview of the techniques being considered for LTE Release 10 (aka LTE Advanced) is discussed.
