Canine Renal Dysfunction: GFR Assessment From B-mode Sonography

Advancements in science have made many diagnostic procedures convenient and economical for routine practice settings. Canine renal dysfunction has extensively been researched upon; however, a novel approach in this regard, has now been developed through assessment of GFR from B-mode sonographic findings, using simple formulae. This work has facilitated not only the qualitative assessment of renal dysfunction, rather more importantly, the quantitative estimation of GFR (functional status of the canine kidneys) just through a sonogram. I keenly look forward that the work would not only benefit pet practitioners in future, but it would prove an innovation regarding futuristic developments in diagnostics for other species, too.
