The idea to study this subject was crystallized in Master's of Political Science and International Relations at Istanbul Aydin University in Istanbul. World-system analysis is a multi-disciplinary issue and that includes history, anthropology, economy, political science, and sociology. At the level of the world-system, modern state is the basic unit of analysis. The structure of the modern world-system consists of capitalist world-economy. This is an integrated system of multiple states and division of labor. Nowadays, economic inequality and internal conflicts are growing up as well as ethnic fascination came to encompass the entire globe. World-system analysis was one of the outgrowths of these problems. In this study, a theoretical framework by drawing between capitalism and nationalism, the factors affecting the behavior of states and their status in the world system will be analyzed.
