Among the climate change mitigation options, carbon capture and storage had been identified to have good future potentials, particularly on the ground that, fossil fuels will remain the major global sources of energy in the medium term. The technology also offers the advantages of enhanced oil and/or gas recovery from partly depleted or low producing reservoirs, and improved methane production from coal deposits. Therefore its full understanding through research and publications as recommended by United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Global CCS Institute and many other international organisations is necessary.
