This book enables the readers to gain knowledge related to research carried out in the area of friction materials. Further, this book also gives an insight to select ingredients present in the friction materials to improve the braking performance. The role of functionalized multi walled carbon nano tubes grafted on carbon fiber is an interesting topic to improve the bonding behavior between carbon fiber and polymer matrix. Carbon fiber friction materials developed are tested using different equipment's to characterize mechnical, tribological, bonding, thermal and damping properties. Finally friction materials are tested using self made brake test rig to evaluate the actual performance of friction materials and compared with the existing friction materials.

Dr Naresh kumar Konada did his MTech in the area of Machine Design from GITAM University in the year 2010 and PhD from Andhra University in the year 2020. He is working as Asst. Professor in Anits College since 2010. He published 23 international journals in various fields. His areas of research interests include machine design, FEM, composites.
