Carbon Trade: Prospects in Financing Poverty Reduction in LDCs

Any development gain revert its progressive discourse if it has weak anthropocentric approach. Environment conservation if blended properly with the poverty reduction will not only promotes healthy ecology, but also emerge as a means for poverty reduction especially in the developing societies. Global warming is the most pertinent global issue of the days ahead. Regardless of carbon footprint, it has global impacts. Our generation needs to act immediately and each individual effort counts. Exploring a new innovative way is the only a solution ahead. Carbon trade is the a viable alternative to create solution for the global cause. Conservation of forest shows a promising perspective towards the mitigation of woes. Conservation rewarded with incentives will foster the global effort of carbon sequestration. The poor have additional income to support their livelihoods for their efforts to conserve standing forest and global risk gets minimised simultaneously. This is a pioneer research of its kind in Nepal and explores alternative but viable option of the most needed finance for poverty reduction and development. Carbon trade blends ecology and people's prosperity positively.
